Katy and Ed have been happily running their South Auckland kennels and cattery since 2005, providing a comfortable, safe and secure environment for your pets. They are active within the kennels, not just behind the scenes.

“We love what we do, it’s all because we love hanging with the animals that we do what we do. We have both always had an affinity with animals. We truly care. Each pet has its own personality, and they all appreciate being liked for who they are. We work out what makes them tick and make their stay great by working with them on that.”

It is the zest for life that Katy sees in the dogs during their stay that she loves so much. The canine guests at their South Auckland kennels just love getting to be proper dogs with other dogs, and of course getting all those cuddles and pats.

Meanwhile it’s those crazy cat minds – mixed personalities and identity confusion – that Katy finds endearing in her feline guests.

“Some cats think they are dogs, some think they are the boss, some are shy and gradually gain their confidence, and others are princesses being pretty and elegant then reach out to tap me as I walk by, for a little extra attention. Then we have those cool cats who jump onto your shoulder and remain there while I get around in the cattery doing my cleaning!“
